iGetcha.org is a suggested opensource and free software directory for the technological sustainability of nonprofits. It's also a simple, non-techie shortlist to assist organizations with a SOHO.
There's a lot of discussion on whether a nonprofit should use Quickbooks, Quicken, Gnucash, et cetera. Our point is, Gnucash is yet again free and open source. Of course there are some advantages to the paid services of Quickbooks but again, iGetcha wants to minimize the costs of a small nonprofit. That said, keep in mind there are costs associated with the convenience of software. Basically what that means is, with free software it should be taken as a rule of thumb that it may take you longer to do what you need to do. And paid software always has some perks such as synching up with accounts.
Check out the options. Simply, iGetcha wants your nonprofit to know what's free out there ;)
