iGetcha.org is a suggested opensource and free software directory for the technological sustainability of nonprofits. It's also a simple, non-techie shortlist to assist organizations with a SOHO.
Tux Typing is one of the best, free educational tools from Tux4Kids :) Go to Tux4Kids and find much, much more! iGetcha really wants nonprofits, teachers, and educational institutions to take advantage of the opportunity to offer amazing software to students and children! With Tux, you offer people a chance to learn software and bridge the global digital divide and fill digital gaps. iGetcha's hope is that every youth development and even adult development program incorporates these tools for everyone to learn...
Remember to spread the Tux logo according to Larry Ewing guidelines ;)
Although Tux Typing is not a "game for social change" specifically directed at an initiative such as saving the environment, promoting peace, or preventing hunger, Typing is a necessary hard skill that can indirectly lead to change. In the digital world, fast typing skills are a must and in near the future, we feel that the lack of this skill will be yet another digital gap preventing some, without the opportunity to learn, to find jobs... If you have not already, please incorporate Tux Typing or another typing software into your development lesson plans.
Btw, Sugar on a Stick OS comes with a typing game :)
