iGetcha.org is a suggested opensource and free software directory for the technological sustainability of nonprofits. It's also a simple, non-techie shortlist to assist organizations with a SOHO.
i understand that nonprofits won't always use opensource, but what's the deal with all the social media brands on the site? %os

They probably just want to reach all the mainstream users to change their way of thinking, right?
Apologies for the late response

Thank you for the question and comment.
Yes, the iGetcha team does support opensource. At the same time, nonprofits and ngos sometimes do not find opensource software as user-friendly as other software. This is an ongoing discussion in the nonprofit world - Is opensource and nonprofits a good fit?
As mentioned before, the learning curve associated to opensource varies in different degrees. Some curves are steep and some are shallow. In our perspective, we do not want to judge nonprofits with less technical capacity for using proprietary software. In cases when it is donated or even free to download nowadays, if the free software works well for nonprofits and ngos in support of their mission, we think that is great!
Our goal as an organization is to share as much information as we can about software and technology solutions that assist nonprofits and ngos with their benefit work, without information overload. We can point our peers in a direction and if they see feasibility in our suggestions, awesome! If not, that's okay ;)
In regards to our mainstream widgets, as the anonymous comment pointed out, the iGetcha team wants to reach the community that is unaware of opensource, free software and free technology solutions. In this way, those that are unaware will realize that there are great solutions provided for free by inspiring volunteers and sponsors.
Also, we will add the "share" button back on the website so that a viewer can post to other communities besides the few that are listed now. We are hoping that too many widgets does not affect our website response time and in the case that it does, please try our mobile site currently in development but functional.
If you have any more questions or comments, please contact us.
Best Regards,
The iGetcha Team :)
