You actually do have the ability to post software you deem important to share with the not-for-profit community. What we are basically trying to do is filter out more complex applications. And at the same time, make sure that the solutions are no cost or at least minimal cost.

iGetcha does not dislike any of the software or hardware solutions out there. Whether it be open source, Google, Microsoft or any other name you can think of... our goal is to share the info to nonprofits that really need options with usability and to cut costs. For example, we love Ubuntu but until recently, Ubuntu was not as user friendly as Windows and also, the brand is not as universally accepted. Now, we know that Karmic Koala is one of the most user friendly environments in open source. You can install software with a click of a button instead of opening up a terminal window and typing UNIX commands.

We really think there is a lot of IT "customer confusion" out there and on the nonprofit side, we want to make sure that this community is not confused or overwhelmed by everything out there. Another goal of ours is to provide ICT4D training one day. Since our resources are minimal and basically volunteers on the human side, we cannot support or transfer the knowledge we would really like to transfer to people.

If our program gains more success, we would like to help in ways such as installing Sugar on a Stick on donated machines around the world for kids and providing training to trainers, helping adults understand Skype or even Facebook, and just establishing some, really sustainable programs for the global digital divide. We don't want to get too in depth since our first goal is to get the information out there with clear, concise solutions for the nonprofit world. Later, we hope to build around this social benefit endeavor.

Regards,

The iGetcha Team :)
