Hey iGetcha community!
I work probono and an interesting concept for nonprofits is creative commons. For encouraging the sharing of information and creativity, I suggest looking into the licensing concepts.

Can you tell us why iGetcha has not explored these licenses?
Love the site!

Creative Commons Response

Hi M,
The iGetcha Team has thought about the creative commons licenses as you mentioned. We're exploring the cc by-nc license but we need to bring up the concept at the next Board of Trustees meeting.
As you noticed from the website, you can send emails to people with our information, print and/or save a .pdf file and we encourage those in the community to share everything ;) We have not written anything in our terms and conditions regarding cc by-nc yet, but we'd like to informally tell the nonprofit community to share our information and remember to mention us if you can. We think the board's concern is that some unfamiliar with the creative commons concept will not follow the practice.
iGetcha trusts the community to monitor itself and we hope when can encourage and protect the great idea of creative commons :) As in the open source world, it's all about working together and really promoting social change.
Thanks for your feedback!
The iGetcha Team :)

Hi again, I've read this thread and wonder about our posts on your site. Are these creative commons as well?
Best,

Hi AJ,
Apologies for the late reply. From our board, all content posted by the community in support, questions and comments will be cc by-nc-nd unless specified by the poster.
Thanks,
The iGetcha Team :)
Creative Commons Update

Hello nonprofit community,
The iGetcha Team appreciates all of your dialogue on the subject of Creative Commons. We have spoken to one of the Trustees on the board and according to his view, cc by-nc-nd is the most protective of the information that we and the community provide. Still, it allows sharing of the information without receiving consent from the organization that produces the works.
Again, we would like the community to share as much of the information as possible and we'll keep you informed once we finalize our creative commons decision for iGetcha.org.
Regards,
The iGetcha Team :)
cc by-nc

Hi AJ,
As we mentioned before, the iGetcha team is looking into how best to use creative commons. For community content such as questions, support and comments, we prefer cc by-nc because it gives credit to those who have posted their information. This is the creative commons that iGetcha is leaning towards simply because as a nonprofit, we prefer noncommercial use as well.
In some cases, a user may want their content to be cc by-sa-nc or cc by-sa. There are various forms of creative commons so we are having internal discussions about these forms of cc rights.
Please feel free to post your work with the creative commons license that you prefer. We would like to maintain your writings in the form that each nonprofit perfers to contribute.
Regards,
The iGetcha Team :)
