This could help out a lot in bringing back life to old computers. Hopefully, they have a sugar on a stick like download and my recycling and reusing post may have had good timing :)
10.04 Lucid and Ubuntu Unity

It's definitely fast. Once you install Unity on top of you 10.04 Ubuntu distribution, you'll be online real quick. As a nonprofit though, we'd like to say to Mark Shuttleworth that it would be even more awesome to have Unity available to be installed on older distributions. That way, older computers can get online just as fast as newer computers.
In fact, we think that there should be a Unity on a stick at around 250Mb or even smaller if possible. CDs will still work too ;) Then, "dead" computers can be reused for schools, nonprofits, education initatives, et cetera in areas around the world that don't have decent computers to get online...
Think about it :) We'd love to help...
